Renoir 'Hawaii' Copper Arrowhead Leaf Brooch and Earring Set
Both the brooch and earrings of this vintage Renoir copper jewelry set feature double arrowhead leaves - one in a bright copper finish, and one in a satin copper finish. Squared copper wire stems curve gracefully from each leaf. The earrings are clips, each marked 'Renoir' on the paddle. The brooch is marked 'Renoir' on the back of one of the stems. All pieces are in excellent used condition (EUC).
The brooch measures 3-5/8" long and 2-3/8" wide. Each earring is 1-1/4" long.
Renoir of California was born in 1946, originally calling itself 'Renoir of Hollywood,' and was in operation until late 1964. It produced beautiful copper jewelry under the Renoir name, then in 1952 introduced enameled copper pieces, under the name 'Matisse,' and for several years in the 50s and 60s also produced a sterling silver line of jewelry, first marked 'Sauteur,' then 'Golden Glow' (gold-plated finish). Because Renoir copper jewelry is coated with a proprietary clear finish, pieces remain tarnish-free and beautiful even today.
