Eisenberg Original Large Pavé Clear Rhinestone Fur Clip - Ad Reference
This vintage early 1940s Eisenberg Original fur clip is artfully asymmetrical, with a flower / swoopy design. All large rhinestones are marvelously bright, and the small chaton rhinestones still shine beautifully (none are missing). The fur clip mechanism is tight and works well. Truly a delightful Eisenberg specimen! Stamped "Eisenberg Original" on reverse.
Clip measures 3-1/4" long and 2-1/4" wide. Featured in ad shown at left, from a 1941 newspaper.
Eisenberg Original dress and fur clips were meant to be worn on, and later coordinated with, Eisenberg's line of clothing. Typically, the dress clips were shown as being worn at the neck, and the fur clips were shown worn as brooches. (See included late 1930s newspaper ad examples.) The company started out including the clips with their (very expensive) Eisenberg Original suits and frocks, but the jewelry's popularity soared, and the Eisenberg Jewelry line of costume jewels was born.
